Real Life: Friends -- Friendships can be complicated at this time in your life. You may be making new friends while you are trying to keep old friends. One thing that can make any relationship complicated is peer pressure. Peer pressure is when you chose to do something you usually wouldn't do, or you stop doing something that you normally would do because you are worried about what your friends will think. Some friends may pressure you to do something because "everyone else does it," such as making fun of someone. One of the biggest challenges that you may have to face is standing up to a friend.

Good Friends, Great Life! -- While I was in high school, I developed this habit of always watching people and how they responded to things. When I’m walking, when I’m talking, and when I’m eating, I love to watch people. I don’t know why I do it, but I think it’s just my curiosity of wanting to understand all of the various human characteristics.

Can Girls and Guys Be Just Friends? -- While sitting around after dinner the other night with my oldest daughter and my husband, the subject came up of friendships between guys and girls. My daughter was talking about one of her guy friends, and my husband spoke up with the opinion that it's not possible for boys and girls to be friends without it turning into "something else" along the way.

And some of us are holding onto what we do have, which might be a step behind popularity and a leap ahead of nerdism. But hey, no matter where you are in the social groups at school, you should be proud of where you’re at.
